H.E. PROF. DATUK SYED OMAR AL SAGGAF

H.E. Prof. Datuk Syed Omar Al Saggaf was the former Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is the Deputy Chairman of the Malaysia – Saudi Business Council. With his long-running experience in facilitating governmental-level economic development and policy in both Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, he is a cornerstone in guiding the strategic direction of IBC. 

He brings a wealth of trade, cultural and diplomatic knowledge and experience for Saudi-Malaysian industries, as well as unparalleled access to key governmental figures of both states.

During his term of service, he was credited with fostering and re-affirming strong diplomatic, cultural and economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

Prof. Datuk Syed Omar possesses a Master’s Degree in (Near Eastern & North African Studies), specializing in Arabic Language and Culture, from the University of Michigan, USA, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Syariah, Madinah University, Saudi Arabia.

Y.M. Tunku Dato’ Iskandar Dzulkarnain was formerly the Executive Chairman of R&A Telecommunication Group Berhad.  As a key player in the Malaysian infrastructure industry, he has undertaken vast projects including data centers, commercial centers, security systems, retail outlets, restaurants, hotel, shopping malls, fitness centers, oil & gas refinery plants and high-end private residences. 

His extensive experience in the oil & gas industry has also seen him partnering with both foreign and local players, such as Lurgi (M) Sdn Bhd, Shell Refinery (M) Sdn Bhd and Petronas.

As the CEO, Y.M. Tunku leads and oversees management of the business in line with the company’s strategy and long term objectives. 

Dr. Serge Pierre Besanger

Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

Dr. Serge Pierre Besanger is a Senior Consultant with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a Professor of Finance at HEC Business School, Paris. He earned an MBA from ESSEC Business School, Paris and a PhD from Sorbonne University, Paris. 

He was the Acting Director of the IMF’s Singapore subsidiary (a joint venture with the Monetary Authority of Singapore) during the Asian financial crisis. He was also the Former MD & CEO Leroy-Somer SEA (subsidiary of Emerson, a Fortune-100 company).

He has authored IMF papers and advised government regulators on banking and finance regulations as well as risk scoring for banks.

As the CIO, Dr. Besanger directs and implements the growth strategy and investment of the company.

Azlin Romlez Taslim

Azlin Romlez has over than 21 years of experience in the Malaysian capital markets industry, ranging from share trading, treasury and corporate finance through his employment at K&N Kenanga Bhd, Danamodal Nasional Berhad, Southern Investment Bank Berhad and Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). 

He was part of the Treasury team at Danamodal Nasional Berhad (a bank recapitalization agency under Bank Negara Malaysia), which managed funds worth RM7.7 billion.

He also spent 13 years with the SC, specifically  involved in reviewing corporate proposals and disclosure documents relating to IPOs, RTOs and SPACs as well as reviewing and drafting the SC’s Prospectus Guidelines. 

He graduated from Acadia University, Canada with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He holds an MBA from Universiti Malaya and a Diploma in Investment Analysis from Research Institute of Investment Analysts Malaysia.

Aznam Shahuddin

Aznam has over 25 years working experience both in the United Kingdom and Malaysia within the industry of private equity investment, financial management, strategy, investor relations, Islamic finance and merger and acquisitions. Aznam was formerly a Director, Alternative Investments at Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP), Malaysia’s civil service pension fund, and being responsible for direct investments and private equity. Prior to KWAP, he served for ten years with the CIMB Group. At CIMB Group, he was involved in corporate planning, investor relations work, selected mergers and acquisition and Islamic Finance. He had also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lembaga FELDA, tasked to invest in non-plantation businesses, investment in property, hospitality and listed companies.

He is currently serving as Executive Director at the Malaysian arm of DH Flinders, Melbourne based boutique corporate advisory firm licensed by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Aznam holds a BA (Hons) in Accountancy from City of Birmingham University. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds a Masters in Islamic Finance from INCEIF, Malaysia. He had also attended the Senior Executive Program in Asia at Michigan Business School, the Strategic Issues in Mergers & Acquisitions program at INSEAD Singapore and the Oxford Chicago Valuation Program at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
